You will soon be able to leverage ChatGPT’s features to order from Walmart.
Here’s how to use ChatGPT to make your next Walmart order.
Walmart confirmed in a news release shoppers will soon be able to use the Open AI-created ChatGPT service to order from Sam’s Club and Walmart by using a the Instant Checkout feature.
“This allows customers and Sam’s Club members to plan meals, restock essentials, or discover new products simply by chatting — Walmart will take care of the rest,” read a potion of the announcement. “This partnership moves beyond traditional eCommerce search bars toward personalized, contextual, and multi-media interactions. AI will learn and predict customers’ needs, turning shopping from a reactive experience into a proactive one — what Walmart calls agentic commerce.”
With ChatGPT, when a shopper asks about, for instance, “best running shoes under $100” or “gifts for a ceramics lover,” the chatbot shows them relevant products and with Instant Checkout, which OpenAI announced Sept. 29, “users can tap ‘Buy,’ confirm their order, shipping, and payment details (you can have saved payment options), and complete the purchase.”
Walmart hasn’t publicized when shoppers can start using ChatGPT, only confirming the feature would be available soon.
According to published reports however, you should be able to use ChatGPT to shop at Walmart before the end of fall.
There are more than 50 Walmart stores in New Jersey.
