Android Headlines / Tech News / Artificial Intelligence News / This $22 AI Gadget Might Be the Cheapest Chatbot Ever
The X-Origin AIPI Lite is one of the more quirky CES 2026 gadgets, offering a standalone AI-powered chatbot for just $22. It supports multiple LLMs like ChatGPT and Gemini, lets users customize personalities and use cases, and works with simple tap-and-talk controls, though many advanced features require a subscription.
As per usual, there are a bunch of fun and quirky devices on display at CES 2026. The X-Origin AIPI Lite definitely belongs on that list. This is a rather interesting gadget, which is also very cheap at the same time.
It’s so cheap that I’ll open with that… it costs $22. Now that you know the price, you’re probably wondering what this is, exactly. Well, it’s an AI-powered chatbot. Yes, you read it right, an AI-powered chatbot for $22.
It is made to be able to work with multiple LLM back-end systems, which include ChatGPT and Gemini, by the way. You can also customize it to use several different purpose-driven bots. They can be bots from pet/animal, fitness/sports, daily motivation, and other categories.
You can also customize it with a custom backstory, personality, or dialogue to match your needs. Yes, this is a gadget for which you create AI agents, but it’s simpler than you’d think.
When you get everything connected and going, you’ll be directed to X-Origin’s web portal to proceed with creation. Everything is basically in a drag-and-drop format, it could not be simpler.
You can choose which model will power it, then choose its personality, and so on. Or… you can use something someone else already made, there’s plenty to browse through. Do note that some of these features are subscription-based. Like a more advanced AI model, which includes the aforementioned bot marketplace and character library.
There’s a single button on the device, and you don’t need to use your phone to use this thing. Simply tap and talk, that’s it, and the gadget will communicate back. It can do more advanced stuff, but do note, once again, that you’ll have to pay for many of those.
