Microsoft Copilot AI has been on an absolute tear picking winners during the 2025 NFL playoffs.
After going a perfect 4-0 with its divisional-round picks, Copilot correctly prognosticated the results of both the AFC and NFC championship games. Impressively, it correctly predicted the New England Patriots would beat the Denver Broncos by three points on the road at Mile High Stadium.
Copilot now has an 11-1 record picking games this postseason. Its lone loss came in the San Francisco 49ers’ wild-card win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Will the AI chatbot be able to complete its near-perfect end to the season by predicting the winner of Super Bowl 60? USA TODAY Sports is finishing its experiment with having Copilot pick the result of every NFL game this season as the big game arrives.

Copilot was able to interpret the prompts with ease, even despite the issues some Large Language Models (LLMs) have keeping up with the latest sports injury news and updates.
Below is a summation of Copilot’s picks for the Super Bowl, along with a brief, human-crafted analysis of each of the chatbot’s answers.
AI’s take: Copilot believes the Seahawks have the “slightly higher ceiling” in their matchup with the Patriots. The chatbot pointed toward Seattle’s “elite” defense, “productive” passing game and positive “recent form” as reasons to be confident the Seahawks can earn a victory and “avoid a low-scoring grind” against a defense-driven New England squad.
Copilot did opine that the Patriots still have a chance to win if their defense plays well. However, it believes the margin for the team to do so is “thin” and “leaves less room for error” should the Seahawks jump out to an early lead. That’s leading it back to Seattle to win the franchise’s second-ever Super Bowl.
Our take: Super Bowl 60 seems likely to be a defensive grind. The Seahawks ranked No. 2 overall in the NFL in defensive EPA per play during the regular season, per the NFL’s Next Gen Stats, while the Patriots have allowed a playoff-low 8.7 points per game amid their romp to an AFC title.
That said, Copilot is right that Seattle’s offense has shown better form of late. New England’s offensive line has struggled against elite defenses in the postseason, allowing Drake Maye to be sacked 15 times across three playoff games. That unit may prevent the Patriots from having the firepower needed to outscore the Seahawks, which makes Seattle the safer side to back in this matchup.
AI’s take: Count Copilot among those impressed by Darnold’s performance in the playoffs. It said the 28-year-old veteran is “playing the best football of his career” amid Seattle’s run to the Super Bowl and believes a performance similar to his 346-yard, three-touchdown outing against the Rams would make him a shoo-in for the award.
Beyond that, Copilot correctly noted MVPs tend to come from the winning team and are usually quarterbacks, which led it to the Darnold conclusion. It also listed Kenneth Walker and Jaxon Smith-Njigba as other “dark horse” MVP candidates should Seattle win the Super Bowl.
Our take: Quarterbacks from the winning team have won seven of the last 10 Super Bowl MVP awards, so it’s hard to argue with Copilot’s logic. Still, there is a scenario in which this turns into a low-scoring game, in which case a defensive player could draw consideration for the award. Still, either Darnold or Maye winning remains the far more likely outcome.
