BISMARCK — The expansion of an artificial intelligence bot service the North Dakota government offers is apparently a hit.
North Dakota Information Technology recently expanded Dakota Bot. It helps users navigate government websites.

It launched roughly a year ago on the ND Commerce web page, and then two weeks ago came to ND.gov.
Managers say it’s had good engagement and has been successful in answering about 70% of user questions.
“It just helps get information in people’s hands, 24/7,” said Tricia Miller, digital systems manager for the state Department of Commerce. “It’s all a conversational search.”
Managers say while the tool is designed to give information to residents, or direct them to the right source, it also reminds users to fact-check what they find because it is AI.
