Various recent studies and reports highlight the country’s significant progress in the implementation of AI in different areas, especially in the financial sector.
According to the QS World Future Skills Index 2025, Mexico has increased the use of AI by 965%, with a total of 362 companies focused on the sector, placing it in the top 10 worldwide in this area. This growth is driven by a significant investment in AI technologies, which reached $500 million in 2022-2023, promoting innovation in key sectors such as finance.
This rise of AI in Mexico is due to a dynamic ecosystem that involves various actors:

Automate processes: Financial institutions are automating tasks such as loan application processing and fraud detection, increasing efficiency and reducing costs. For example, some banks use AI to assess the credit risk of loan applicants in an automated way, which streamlines the approval process.
Analyze data: AI is used to analyze large volumes of data and gain valuable insights into customer behavior, allowing services to be personalized and improving decision-making. One example is the use of AI to segment customers and offer them tailored financial products.
Improve customer support: AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants are improving customer support by providing quick and accurate responses to queries. Many financial institutions already use chatbots to answer frequently asked questions, provide information about products and services, and even make simple transactions.
Strengthen security: AI is used to detect abnormal patterns in banking transactions and prevent financial fraud. AI can analyze millions of transactions in real-time to identify suspicious activity and alert banks to take preventative action.

Mexico still faces challenges in the development of AI, such as accessibility to technological services and products, the need for greater investment in infrastructure, and the importance of establishing a solid and ethical regulatory framework.
“There are challenges and that is precisely why we are working. Grandata’s expertise in developing AI technologies to reinvent the data ecosystem and deliver high-quality credit information to fintechs, banks, and merchants, while preserving consumer privacy; It will allow us to strengthen our offer to enhance the growth of our customers in an agile and efficient way, while promoting financial inclusion in the country.
