Meta is reportedly looking for people fluent in Hindi and with knowledge of prompt engineering and artificial intelligence (AI) content pipelines. Why? The social-media company has reportedly employed US-based contractors to hire local Indian residents to help create character-driven chatbots for various platforms, including Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger, to ensure authenticity. Those with Hindi fluency may end up earning up to $55 per hour.
The Hindi speakers thus employed will be expected to teach these chatbots the language and also the nuances of the local culture.
A similar hiring process is on in Mexico and Indonesia too as reported by Business Insider.
In addition to fluency in the language, candidates are expected to have some knowledge of prompt engineering and AI content pipelines.
Crystal Equation and Aquent Talent are amongst the contractors reportedly taking care of the hiring.
Meta clearly sees AI role-playing chatbots as the future of social media. In the past, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO, Meta, has often spoken of AI chatbots growing to be friends. He believes AI is capable of making even reels interactive so that those scrolling through feeds can actually end up having proper conversations.
It is pertinent to mention here that Meta already has AI Studio, a platform—available only in the US and Indonesia as of now—that allows users to create character-driven chatbots.
