“Maybe we should just do what she says.” Brainstorm Media has unvieled an official trailer for an indie sci-fi horror movie called C.O.G., made by filmmaker Tommy Savas. This originally premiered at a few horror festivals last year under the name CognAItive, though they switched that for this final release. Not to be confused with the other indie film also titled C.O.G. from back in 2013 (it’s good – with Jonathan Groff). A pioneering tech startup on the verge of launching a new AI chatbot with unparalleled speed and intelligence soon discovers that their creation harbors a dark and sinister will of its own. “She” starts to take over the building – then everything else. Can anyone escape it? Starring Piper Curda, Josh Zuckerman, Natasha Behnam, Lucius Baybak, Ritesh Rajan, and Noel Fisher. This is one amped up trailer that shows way too much! But it also looks pretty crazy for what it is – cheesy in just the right way for the AI-goes-evil plot. Plus there’s the snarky a-hole tech CEO dude and plenty of other fun AI horror tossed in. Check it out below.
Here’s the main official trailer (+ poster) for Tommy Savas’ sci-fi horror C.O.G., direct from YouTube:

Intro via Screamfest: “In this sci-fi thriller/horror commenting on the ever-growing concern of AI taking our jobs, a group of co-workers stay late at the office in preparation for the launch of their smarter, faster, more cognitive version of chat GPT; they quickly come to realize that the AI they’ve created has its own sinister agenda. In this bloody battle of the smartest, each of these genius’ will have to outsmart ‘COGN-AI-TIVE’ in order to survive.” C.O.G., formerly premiering with the original title CognAItive, is directed by the American actor / filmmaker Tommy Savas, also director of the “PlayStation Girl” and “Game Bros.” series, along with a few other shorts. The screenplay is written by Angie Simms. It’s produced by Judy Craig, Kelly May, Tommy Savas, and Angie Simms. This initially premiered at 2025 FrightFest London last year, and also played at Screamfest in the fall. Brainstorm Media debuts this C.O.G. tech horror thriller in select US theaters on September 4th, 2026, then on VOD starting September 25th coming soon. Any good?
