DANVILLE, CA — The Town of Danville has launched Auggie Answers, an AI chatbot to help with customer service inquiries on the town website. The service is still in its testing phase, and the community is invited to help test it during its initial launch period. Users can rate the quality of answers provided, which helps town staff improve the service.
Auggie Answers aims to provide more personalized results to help users navigate the more than 600 pages that make up the town website. For example, if a user asks, “What is the town budget?” they will receive just the latest budget, rather than all the pages containing the word “budget.”

“People are looking for answers 24/7, so over time, we hope that the Auggie Answers chatbot can help our community get answers when they are needed,” said Communications and Economic Development Manager Jenn Starnes. “Being able to provide customer service in a way that works for residents is critical – and while that will always include the option of picking up the phone and talking to a human, we also want to be
able to provide answers outside of traditional office hours.”
To test it out, visit the town website and look for the Auggie Answers icon on the right-hand side of the page.
