CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (KWQC) – Farmers now have their own version of an AI chatbot, similar to ChatGPT or Copilot.
It’s called CropWizard and was developed by the University of Illinois.
Farmers can ask the chaptbot questions about pests, diseases, or crop management and receive research-based answers.
“They can take a photograph in the field of a pest or a disease symptom and upload it and ask advice about what it is and how to manage it,” Dr. Vikram Adve, a professor of computer science at the University of Illinois said. “They probably can’t get more detailed, extensive plans like a human advisor would do, but they can get much easier and much cheaper access to this kind of advice.”
