In a significant stride towards making Indore a Smart Service City, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has launched a dedicated WhatsApp chatbot service to address citizen complaints promptly and transparently. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav said that the initiative supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision and inaugurated by with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday during Tiranga Yatra at Rajwada. It was introduced under the guidance of Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya.
A citizen-friendly digital initiative The WhatsApp chatbot service, accessible on mobile number 7440311311, allows residents to directly lodge complaints concerning municipal services. By integrating the chatbot with the IMC’s 311 mobile app, the system ensures that grievances reach the relevant officials in real time, enabling faster redresal and improving accountability.

IMC officials stated that the service will simplify the complaint registration process and eliminate delays. Citizens will no longer have to visit municipal offices for minor grievances, as the entire process can be completed from a mobile phone.
A step towards a ‘Smart Service City’
Mayor Bhargav believes the chatbot will not only strengthen communication between residents and the civic body but also serve as a milestone in achieving Digital India and Digital Indore objectives. “This step takes us beyond the concept of a Smart City to becoming a Smart Service City,” the Mayor said.
