Open AI has announced a new feature that allows you to connect your chatbot to existing applications, making them usable by ChatGPT.
The new “middle kingdom” of computing. This is what ChatGPT is set to become, thanks to Sam Altman’s latest announcement. OpenAI has introduced new features for ChatGPT. The chatbot is now able to interact with other applications in our daily lives.
At the opening of its “Developer Day,” OpenAI introduced a new feature, Apps SDK, which allows ChatGPT to interact with apps for music, real estate search, hotel or flight reservations, poster creation, and more. However, this feature is not yet available in Europe. Unsurprisingly, given ChatGPT’s strong sales, the first partners, including Booking.com, Canva, Coursera, Figma, Expedia, Spotify, and Zillow, saw a sharp jump in their stock prices. Other partners, including Uber and AllTrails, are expected to join them later this year.
ChatGPT already allows users to configure their own version of an AI agent with basic computer skills, i.e., a semi-autonomous model capable of performing complex tasks on its own initiative: analyzing data, determining additional research that needs to be done, building a program to use it. “This is the best time in history to be a builder; it has never been faster to go from idea to product,” Open AI CEO Sam Altman told enthusiastic developers gathered in San Francisco.
He began his speech by announcing that ChatGPT had surpassed 800 million weekly users. Five million companies and institutions also pay for professional subscriptions, according to OpenAI.  The company also claims that request costs have fallen by 42% over the past 12 months for traditional artificial intelligence models and by 95% for advanced ones.
The presentation, watched live by over 30,000 people, kicked off a day filled with demonstrations and talks for a predominantly male audience of developers gathered in former military warehouses on the shores of San Francisco’s sunny bay. I BGNES
