1Password for Agents adds approved logins for AI assistants without exposing credentials. Muse and Grok Bot lead the rollout, with more integrations coming.
1Password has announced a way for personal AI agents to sign in to websites without seeing your passwords. With 1Password for Agents, you approve a specific login, and the password manager fills in your credentials directly on the website. Integrations for Meta’s Muse and Grok Bot will roll out over the coming days, with more assistants to follow.
The announcement addresses a practical obstacle for assistants like Meta Muse: completing a task often requires account access. Instead of pasting a password into a chat or signing in for each one, you can approve the login through 1Password.

When a supported agent reaches a login page, it asks to use a saved credential. You review the request, choose the appropriate account if more than one matches, and approve or deny access. According to 1Password’s explanation, it then enters the password or one-time code into the sign-in form and removes the credential once the website accepts it.
Connecting an agent does not give it access to your entire vault. Approval is tied to the requested login, though how often you need to approve access varies by integration. After signing in, the agent can continue its task without receiving the credential itself.
The initial rollout covers Muse and Grok Bot. The company lists Claude Duet, OpenAI’s ChatGPT Work and dots, and Townie as coming soon. These announcements do not mean every integration is available today, or that the feature works with any AI chatbot.
The launch blog says the feature is included at no additional cost for Individual and Family accounts on 1Password.com. Accounts on 1Password.eu and 1Password.ca are not currently supported, and availability can vary by integration, region and device. The announcement does not set out a separate UAE rollout date.
It protects the credential, but approving a login still gives the agent access to an account. 1Password’s FAQ notes that an agent may see information or take actions once signed in, depending on the assistant and website. You still need to consider what account you are opening and what task you have asked it to perform.
The key distinction is this: keeping a password out of the model’s reach reduces credential exposure, while the assistant’s permissions and approval controls govern what happens afterwards. The integration is optional, so existing customers can continue using 1Password without connecting an agent.
It is included at no additional cost with eligible Individual and Family accounts on 1Password.com. A qualifying subscription is still required.
Not necessarily. The launch announcement lists ChatGPT Work and dots, and Claude Duet, as coming soon. Muse and Grok Bot integrations are rolling out over the coming days.
1Password says the integration requests access to a specific login rather than exposing the whole vault. Once signed in, the agent may still access information and perform actions within that account.
