In today’s Tech Bytes, the White House has launched an AI chatbot designed to help people find government services. It’s called America.gov and is built using Google’s Gemini and Elon Musk’s Grok. President Trump calls it “one front door for every single question.”
Next, OpenAI is launching Dots, always-on AI agents that can work on tasks in the background around the clock, even when users are not logged in. They are included for ChatGPT Pro and business subscribers and can connect to more than 4,000 apps.
Finally, McDonald’s is denying a Reuters report that claims the company is pressuring franchise owners to increase their use of an AI-powered algorithm that estimates what customers may be willing to pay based on location. McDonald’s says that characterization is misleading because the algorithm does not set prices in real time. It only provides pricing suggestions.
