JioStar has officially unveiled JioStar GenAI Media Studios (JAMS), an AI-native content production platform designed to automate and manage the entire creative lifecycle.Announced by Akash Ambani at Reliance Industries’ 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday, the platform marks the network’s transition from using artificial intelligence for background automation to embedding it directly into the primary content creation stack.
Ambani noted that the deployment of JAMS aims to nurture a “new generation of creative technologists” across the country, allowing creators to accelerate production times, lower operational bottlenecks, and pivot focus toward storytelling.
The deployment of JAMS follows JioStar’s targeted expansion into advanced digital entertainment infrastructure. In February, the network appointed Emmy Award winner Stephan Bugaj as Senior Vice President of GenAI Content & Technology to spearhead its interactive storytelling and automated production systems.
Bugaj, a veteran creative director with prior leadership stints at Pixar Animation Studios, Telltale Games, and Hanson Robotics, is tasked with designing JioStar’s next-generation entertainment formats. The platform’s scalable capabilities are expected to heavily service JioStar’s vast consumer footprint, which includes a leading 34.7% share of television entertainment viewership and 451 million monthly active users on its streaming wing, JioHotstar.
