As more social-media companies use monthly subscriptions to diversify their revenue intake beyond advertising, Meta has decided to introduce new and expanded subscription offerings for content creators and businesses, as well as users of the tech giant’s artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot and social platforms.
Meta initially teased expanded subscriptions in January, introducing premium offerings separate from the company’s existing Verified options via various subscription perks and bundles designed to enhance the use of Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp for consumers, creators, and businesses.
Dedicated users and creators seeking profile customization, “Super Likes,” “Super Hearts,” story insights and extensions, unlimited audience lists, and additional special features can now pay for Instagram Plus ($3.99 per month), Facebook Plus ($3.99 per month), or WhatsApp Plus ($2.99 per month).

New “Meta One” subscription offerings will focus on helping creators and businesses develop their professional goals, while also providing users who are curious about AI with more chatbot generation tools.
Under the umbrella of Meta One, the company is testing “Plus” (priced at $7.99 per month) and “Premium” ($19.99 per month) plans for Meta AI users. The latter provides the same basic features as “Plus,” but with extended AI capability, powered more heavily by Meta AI’s “thinking mode.”
These Meta AI subscriptions will begin testing next month in Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia, and will offer additional functionality for AI glasses in the coming weeks.
Creator and business-focused One subscription offerings including “Essential” ($14.99 per month) and “Advanced” ($49.99 per month)” will begin testing next week in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Thailand and Bangladesh.
Meta One Essential will provide creators and businesses with a Verified badge, impersonation protection, and other Verified features while the Advanced plan will allow subscribers to feature their posts higher up in the Facebook feed and Instagram search results, enhance the “Follow” button on Reels, send automated invitations to engaged users, link to their website and shop via feed posts, and utilize enhanced analytics.
Users who are willing to spend almost $50 per month will also be granted optimized scheduling tools, account moderator crossover capabilities, and notification alerts when a subscriber’s content is reused.
Meta boosted its revenue intake by 33% year-over-year in Q1 2026, but plans to increase its spending on AI development throughout the year, with spending expectations upwards of $169 billion in Q2.
Building out Meta One could provide the company with a more lucrative subscription ecosystem if users, creators, and businesses invested, furthering the $885 million Meta reported in Q1 from WhatsApp paid messaging and other app subscriptions.
