In the ongoing trial in the Elon Musk’s lawsuit against OpenAI, its former technology chief Mira Murati testified against CEO Sam Altman. She accused Altman of “creating chaos” stating, “My concern was about Sam saying one thing to one person and completely the opposite to another person.”
Murati was briefly the CEO of OpenAI before bringing in Emmett Shear, former Twitch CEO as a tentative replacement of Altman after he was forced out by the board in November 2023. Altman then joined Satya Nadella-led Microsoft’s AGI team momentarily before invited back as the CEO of OpenAI which he had co-founded with Elon Musk as a non-for-profit firm. After the company’s pivot to for-profit, Musk who left the board in 2018 stating it was “on a path of certain failure” accused the company of going astray of its core. The current lawsuit followed.
