Sydney-based messaging infrastructure company Babeltext has launched Chat2Me.AI, a marketplace that lets creators, consultants and experts build AI versions of themselves to engage audiences and generate subscription income around the clock.
The platform operates across WhatsApp, SMS and web chat, supporting 195 languages without requiring users to download an app.
Chat2Me.AI is aimed at a specific problem in the creator economy: the mismatch between an expert’s available hours and the demand from their audience. While platforms like Patreon and Substack are built around content publishing, Chat2Me.AI is structured around conversation.
“A single creator on Chat2Me.AI with 500 subscribers at $20 per month earns close to $60,000 a year, without writing a single piece of content or hiring a single staff member,” explained David Hayes, Founder of Babeltext.
The platform uses a hybrid model. AI handles volume and availability, while the human creator can step in for interactions that need a personal touch. Babeltext argues this addresses a weakness in fully automated systems, where quality and authenticity tend to suffer without human involvement.
Creators apply by submitting a personality concept – including their niche, tone and area of expertise – through the Chat2Me.AI website. If accepted, Babeltext’s team builds and hosts the AI personality on its messaging infrastructure. The creator is then responsible for promoting their AI persona and being available for subscriber escalations.
Each approved personality on the platform receives a dedicated phone number that subscribers can save as a contact, instant deployment across WhatsApp, SMS and web chat, real-time translation across 195 languages, a profile in the Chat2Me.AI marketplace and a 50 per cent share of all subscription revenue paid monthly.
Subscription pricing is set in agreement between the creator and Chat2Me.AI. Current personalities on the platform range from free tiers for youth support services through to $15 per month for premium expert access. There are no upfront costs for approved creators.
Hayes frames the approach as meeting users where they already spend their time.
“Messaging is the most widely adopted digital interface on the planet. We’re not asking users to change their behaviour – we’re meeting them exactly where they already are,” he told journalists.
The platform currently lists several live AI personalities, including a global business mentor offering strategic insights via WhatsApp and SMS for $15 per month, travel guides covering the US, UK and Australia with photo recognition via WhatsApp, a wellness companion providing stress and burnout support around the clock, a fan character personality and a free youth chat service operating in Australia and the UK.
Chat2Me.AI is not a greenfield product. It runs on Babeltext’s existing multilingual messaging infrastructure, which already serves enterprise clients across hospitality, healthcare, aged care, eCommerce and government.
The company’s translation engine achieved 98 per cent accuracy across nine languages in independent testing conducted by the Ethnic Communities Council of NSW. That same engine now powers every Chat2Me.AI personality, with the platform managing 195 languages in total.
The infrastructure is hosted on AWS, supports end-to-end encryption and operates across SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WeChat, Telegram, Discord and web chat.
In association with Nextgen, Babeltext is an AWS Partner, Software Partner and ISV. It is also listed on the international AWS Marketplace and Shopify Marketplace.
