HMM has announced the launch of a generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot system designed to provide improved access to data on vessel and cargo movements.
The tool was developed in collaboration with LG CNS to help users navigate maritime information through natural language conversation.
The service allows users to check vessel schedules and freight information without requiring specific technical terminology. It also provides guidance on national customs procedures, regulatory requirements, and the transportation of dangerous goods.
The chatbot features real-time translation for 17 languages. HMM expects the system to reduce the administrative burden on related stakeholders by providing immediate access to information.
HMM says that it plans to use customer data to continue to refine the digital system over time.
