Artificial intelligence is more than the latest buzzword — it’s everywhere. Quite literally.
And, if the views and shares of our recent ChatGPT blog are any indication, real estate agents love the idea of using AI to help streamline their business. But, like with most new technology, it can be tough to dive in.
We heard you. So, let’s look at seven more ways AI can change your daily hustle.
Chatbots are all the rage right now.
Chatbots, or artificial intelligence tools powered by text-based prompts, are quickly sweeping the tech world and taking it by storm. Of course, you’ve heard of ChatGPT, but other up-and-coming writing tools include Bard, Google’s newest entry into the world of artificial intelligence.
Because these chatbots produce written responses, they can be used to help agents write more engaging social media posts.
For Bard, you might say: “I’m a real estate agent. Can you please write a fun social media post to get people to contact me to use on my professional Instagram page?”
Here’s how Bard responded:
The image idea is a nice touch! But keep in mind chatbots like Bard or ChatGPT do not replace humans — or your own knowledge of your expertise. This is a fantastic starting point, but maybe you’re passionate about helping first-generation homebuyers, or perhaps you’re committed to going above and beyond for your clients with your knack for negotiating.
Building upon the prompts you’ve already written can keep the momentum going. Let’s see what happened when we asked Bard: “Can you rewrite this post to be more fun and catchy?”
While it certainly trimmed the post, it doesn’t exactly read fun, catchy, or factual (unless you’ve already helped hundreds of home buyers). Think of chatbots as a supporting act to your brilliance. They can get you started, but you should carry your writing to the finish line.
As you saw in our ChatGPT blog post, we leaned on the infamous chatbot to help us get some ideas rolling for blog posts, social media captions, changing tone of voice in our writing, and more.
But what if you can take it to the next level?
You can ask chatbots like ChatGPT or Bard to create content or generate ideas for your website, blog, video scripts, email templates, and templated text replies.
When using Bard, we asked the tool to give us some website inspiration by writing the prompt: “Please give me 6 creative, unique content ideas for my website as a real estate agent in Fort Myers, Florida.
Let’s see how ChatGPT responded when we copy and pasted the exact same prompt into the tool:
While Bard’s tone of voice and attention to detail may fall a bit short, it can clearly be another useful tool to get your own creative gears turning. On the other hand, ChatGPT’s response fleshed out titles, content, and even gave a nice reminder at the end that’s actionable and helps you firm up the reasoning behind each content idea.
We encourage you to view these chatbots as tools in your arsenal. They’ll never be a replacement for the flair that makes you uniquely you, but they can certainly give you a boost in content creation.
Tired of using the same old headshot from your early days? Or maybe your favorite photographer is booked out for months on end. No worries here — AI can help!
Platforms like Aragon.ai, HeadshotPro, and HeadshotsByAI take selfies that you upload in whatever poses, angles, and lighting you have available. Then, in as little as minutes or as long as hours, their AI tools take your likeness and generate professional headshots.
Sound unbelievable? See what HeadshotPro can do with a series of selfies below:
Proceed with caution: You do not want to be the person who shows up to the listing appointment looking nothing like their headshot. Save an ultra-flattering, too-good-to-be-real AI headshot for your personal, private profiles. And, if we’re being honest, sometimes the photos come back a little crazy — but, at minimum, you can have a little fun with it.
The option for prospective buyers to take virtual tours of properties boomed in 2020 out of necessity, but might just be here to stay with powered-up tools from artificial intelligence.
Virtual tours offer an immersive experience for home shoppers, so they can explore the ins and outs of a property from the comfort of home or the convenience of their smartphone.
Apps like iStaging or Realsee offer virtual tours, dollhouse views, floor plans, side-by-side comparisons, and measurements. For added convenience, you can use your smartphone to take panoramic photos that the AI tools will leverage to generate the tours, or you can purchase camera kits from these platforms that are compatible with their tools.
These platforms also offer virtual staging, allowing you to put artificially-generated furniture into an unfurnished home. With 81% of buyers’ agents sharing with the National Association of REALTORS® that staging a prospective property made it easier for a buyer to picture themselves in it as their future home, these tools can help boost your selling power.
Hint: These tours can also be a great addition to your listings on realtor.com®
We all know that in real estate, time is money.
There’s never enough hours in the workday — that’s where AI-powered virtual assistants can come in.
Using apps like Juliedesk and Motion can help you across a range of tasks to manage your workload. They can schedule your appointments, reply to emails, manage your calendars, and send you timely reminders for tasks and various to-dos.
Some other really great examples are Reclaim and Clockwise, which work to streamline team scheduling.
With more free time available, AI-powered virtual assistants can help you get back to doing what you love the most.
Adding a chatbot to your website can be a game-changer.
Similar to virtual assistants, a chatbot on your website can serve as a sort of receptionist: when visitors come to your site, they can greet them, offer to answer any questions, and give them a superior experience — all while saving you even more time.
It’s no secret that consumers, especially in our tech-first world, expect instant gratification. By adding a chatbot to your site, you can easily be always-on through the bot’s fast, automated, and accurate responses helping your site visitors in real-time.
There are some great options in the world of chatbots, including Hubspot’s Chatbot builder, Drift, Salesforce Einstein, and Liveperson.
While not “technically” a chatbot, turning on your auto responses on your Facebook page is a great way to take advantage of a simple tool that can answer some of your visitor’s most burning (and frequent) questions. Here’s how to do that
The more tame tip of all of these options is using AI-powered grammar tools to proofread any of your communications before you hit ‘send.’
Grammarly is a tried-and-true favorite that can be used to proof your listing descriptions, client communications, and CRM-loaded templates. You can even download the Google Chrome extension so that Grammarly can check your writing, whether you’re in your email client, CRM, or even your MLS.
Once you install the extension, Grammarly will kick in across any platform to offer you peace of mind while ensuring you’re not looking unprofessional with typos and grammar mistakes.
Rather than fearing artificial intelligence, what if we could learn how to treat it as a powerful addition to our real estate rockstar toolkit?
We hope these exciting, innovative, and sometimes surprising new offerings from the AI world can inspire you to take the leap into the futuristic features that are becoming all the rage.
