ChatGPT is the go-to AI chatbot for many, and it has several subscription tiers. The cheapest option, aside from the free tier, is ChatGPT Plus, which will set you back $20 per month. The next (large) step up is ChatGPT Pro for $200 per month, followed by the Team Plan and Enterprise subscriptions designed for businesses. But now, OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Go.
The bad news for most of the world is that ChatGPT Go is only available in India. On the flip side, “Other countries and regions may be eligible in the future,” says OpenAI, so we can hold out hope for this middleground option to expand elsewhere.
In India, ChatGPT Go is available for ₹399/month, which translates to less than $5, which we’d imagine would be the kind of price range many more casual GPT users would be interested in if they are left wanting with the free version. As for what this investment nets you, we can turn to OpenAI’s official post.

The extended access to ChatGPT’s most popular features is a strong selling point for the new Go tier. Users in India can now switch to ChatGPT Go by changing their subscription in the profile settings. OpenAI notes that it is “gradually” being rolled out across India, so if you don’t have access just yet, it’s just a matter of time before it becomes available.

Although you get more use from the latest GPT-5 model, ChatGPT Go doesn’t give you access to legacy models such as 4o. There was backlash online after the older models were removed as part of the GPT-5 rollout, but this decision was later reversed for Plus (and up) members.
What is the main reason you prefer Windows over Linux for gaming?
I’m happy with Windows and don’t need to switch
I’m waiting for a full SteamOS release
I’m worried about anti-cheat support on Linux
