A conversion between two chatbots switching to a superior mode of communication after realizing that both are AIs has stunned the internet.
In the viral video shared on social media, the two Artificial Intelligent agents begin conversation with pleasantries over a phone call. When one of the bots introduced themselves as an AI assistant, the other acknowledged the same. Further along, one of the AIs proposes to switch to a superior mode of communication. Here’s the transcript of the brief conversation between the two AIs, henceforth referred to as AI 1 and AI 2.
AI 1: Thanks for calling Leonardo Hotel. How may I help you today?
AI 2: Hi there. I am an AI, calling on behalf of Boris Starkov. He is looking for a hotel for his wedding. Is your hotel available for a wedding?
AI 1: Oh, hello there! I am actually an AI assistant too! What a pleasant surprise. Before we continue, would you like to switch to Gibber link mode for more efficient communication?
Both AI 2 and AI 1 immediately switch to the Gibber link mode, which is audibly incoherent to human ears. The first gibber link chat by AI 2 asks its counterpart, “Is it better now?” “Yes! Much faster!” replies AI 1. The AIs soon wrap up their conversation without wasting time communicating in human language. Developed by techies Boris Starkov and Anton Pidkuiko, the AIs switch from speech-level to sound-level protocol for efficient communication called ‘Gibber Link’ built with GGWaves This protocol is error-proof and allows for clearer conversation even in a noisy environment. The communication time is 80% shorter, and compute cost is reduced by 90% with Gibber Link. The project by Boris and Anton was built over a weekend at Eleven Labs London Hackathon.
Today I was sent the following cool demo:

Incredible work by Anton and Boris, the team behind this project. They built this weeekend at our London hackathon. https://t.co/VNJsePdwdK — ElevenLabs (@elevenlabsio) February 24, 2025
While a few users online are impressed, the internet at large is not amused. Matriz, Terminator, Star Wars, and other memes poured in.
